changes-to-cody-free-pro-and-enterprise-starter-plans

Today we’re announcing some important changes to a number of our Cody plans. As Sourcegraph continues to evolve, we’re simplifying parts of our product offerings to better serve our customers and prioritize our efforts where we already see developers succeeding.

As of July 23, 2025, the following plans will no longer be available:

  • Cody Free
  • Cody Pro

In addition, the Enterprise Starter plan will also no longer include Cody.

Existing users on these plans will retain access to Cody until that date.

Importantly: Cody Enterprise customers are not affected by these changes. We remain fully committed to supporting and investing in this offering, which continues to serve many of the world’s largest software organizations.

Why we’re making this change

The pace of AI innovation continues to move quickly, and we’re seeing developers achieve incredible results as they adopt new ways of working with AI. To support where developers are seeing the most value - and to stay focused as we build for the future - we’re simplifying parts of our product lineup to better align with how our products are being used today.

Cody Enterprise remains fully supported and actively developed, continuing to bring AI-powered development to some of the most sophisticated and security-conscious engineering organizations. At the same time, advancements in model capabilities are enabling AI to take on more complex, end-to-end development tasks, moving beyond just code suggestions and acting with more autonomy. Amp is built to unlock this new way of working, with agentic, collaborative AI designed for modern teams. These changes allow us to focus on building both products thoughtfully and deeply, tailored to the distinct needs of the customers they serve.

  • Your Enterprise Starter subscription remains fully supported for Code Search, with upcoming improvements like Deep Search improving how you search, navigate, and understand your code.

If you’re a Cody Enterprise customer:

  • No changes are being made to your subscription.
  • Cody Enterprise remains fully supported, actively developed, and invested in.

We know changes like this can create questions, and we’re committed to making this transition as smooth as possible. If you need help or have questions about your plan, please reach out to us in Discord.

Thank you for being part of the Sourcegraph community. We’re excited about what’s ahead - for both Cody Enterprise and Amp - and we look forward to continuing to serve you with the best AI-powered development tools available.
