Karim Atiyeh - Building Ramp - [Invest Like the Best, EP.445]
My guest today is Karim Atiyeh. Karim is the co-founder and CTO of Ramp, the fastest-growing finance automation platform in history, reaching over $1 billion in revenue in just over five years. Ramp is, of course, also our presenting sponsor, so I’m obviously very biased in how highly I think about Ramp and about Karim. But, this interview was not part of that sponsorship, I simply view Karim as one of the best operators active today. Ramp is building what Karim calls "self-driving finance"—using AI agents to automate everything from expense policy enforcement to invoice processing, eliminating the bureaucratic waste that plagues modern businesses. PatrickMy guest today is Karim Atiyeh. Karim is the co-founder and CTO of Ramp, the fastest growing finance automation platform in history, reaching over a billion in revenue in just over five years. Ramp is of course also our presenting sponsor, so I'm obviously very biased in how highly I think about Ramp and about Karim, but this interview was not a part of that sponsorship. I simply view Karim as one of the best operators active today. Ramp is building what Karim calls self-driving finance, using AI agents to automate everything from expense policy enforcement to invoice processing, eliminating the bureaucratic waste that plagues modern businesses. Karim shares his framework for moving from using AI as a productivity tool to programming AI as your actual product with policy agents that understand context better than humans and improve continuously.
Our discussion captures the relentless iteration, speed and technical depth required to build generational companies in the age of AI. We explore his systematic approach to building consumer-grade experiences for business software, the psychology behind his divinely discontent management style, and why he believes technical founders will dominate this era because they can see the possibilities that others miss. Please enjoy my conversation with Karim Atiyeh.

OCSF explained: The shared data language security teams have been missing
The security industry has spent the last year talking about models, copilots, and agents, but a quieter shift is happening one layer below all of that: Vendors are lining up around a shared way to describe security data. The Open Cybersecurity Schema Framework ( OCSF), is emerging as one of the strongest candidates for that job. It gives vendors, enterprises, and practitioners a common way to represent security events , findings, objects, and context. That means less time rewriting field names and custom parsers and more time correlating detections, running analytics, and building workflows that can work across products. In a market where every security team is stitching together endpoint, identity, cloud, SaaS, and AI telemetry, a common infrastructure long felt like a pipe dream, and OCS

Apple iOS 26.5 public beta is now available
Apple has released the first public beta for iOS 26.5, just a few days after the beta for developers came out. One of the biggest changes the new operating system brings is the “ Suggested Places ” feature in Apple Maps. It will show you trending places to visit, such as restaurants and other establishments, near your location or based on your search history. You can see Suggested Places when you tap on the search bar in the Maps app. iOS 26.5 beta also will also come with notifications that the company will be putting ads inside Maps. Apple confirmed in March that it was going to expand its ads outside of the App Store and Apple News apps. The ads you see will be based on your location, the search terms you’ve used and what you’re looking up on Maps. They will show up at the top of your s
