AI agents like Databricks Genie are only as good as the data they can access. But for many organizations, data silos in SaaS applications and operational databases prevent agents from reasoning over the complete enterprise context.
Lakeflow Connect solves this with built-in connectors for SaaS applications, databases, cloud storage, and message buses that seamlessly ingest data into the Databricks Platform. And now that Databricks is introducing the Lakeflow Connect Free Tier (recently announced at FabCon 2026), there’s never been a better time to start unifying your enterprise data.
What’s new: the Lakeflow Connect Free Tier
Lakeflow Connect is already helping more than 2,000 customers unlock value from their data, with a point-and-click UI, simple API, and unified governance via Unity Catalog. In the past year, the breadth of supported data sources has continued to grow, now at 30+ connectors. including new connectors for SaaS applications such as Dynamics 365, Google Ads, Meta Ads, Confluence, and Jira, as well as databases like SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL. And unlike fragmented third-party tools that split governance, Lakeflow Connect delivers end-to-end lineage, fully governed by Unity Catalog.
With the Lakeflow Connect Free Tier, more teams can now bring their enterprise data into Databricks and put it to work. Every Databricks workspace automatically receives 100 free DBUs per day, dedicated to managed SaaS and database connectors only*. Billing will automatically account for this free allowance.*
This daily allocation is substantial, providing enough compute to ingest up to 100 million records per workspace, per day** across eligible supported sources. All of this is built on top of our standard pricing model, one with no volume-based premiums or the costly row-based pricing models common in third-party ingestion tools.**
Why it matters: powering AI with complete enterprise context
Unifying your enterprise data fundamentally changes what AI agents can do. When that data is scattered, agents are working with an incomplete picture—so they fill in the gaps with guesswork, or they simply can't answer. Ingesting that data into the Databricks Platform closes those gaps. For example, an agent can correlate support trends with revenue patterns to flag at-risk accounts, or connect pipeline activity to capacity usage to prioritize the right deals. And each new source you bring in makes every other source more valuable.

Connecting your enterprise data
Lakeflow Connect supports a rapidly growing list of the most popular SaaS applications, including Google Analytics, Workday, ServiceNow, Dynamics 365, Zendesk, Google Ads, Hubspot, TikTok Ads, Jira, Confluence, and Meta. It also seamlessly connects to many of the most widely used databases and data warehouses, such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake, and BigQuery. All of these managed connectors will be covered in the Free Tier. Refer to the latest list of managed connector releases in the documentation.
Setup takes just minutes via a simple UI or API. There is zero infrastructure to manage, monitor, or scale—allowing your data teams to easily bring data into the lakehouse so AI can do the heavy analytical lifting. To get started, review the Lakeflow Connect documentation.
Get started today
Don't let fragmented governance and isolated data silos limit your AI results. Give your AI agents the context they deserve with built-in Lakehouse ingestion.
Start ingesting your enterprise data today and take advantage of up to 100 million records a day for free. Your actual ingestion capacity will vary based on specific workload characteristics, record sizes, and source types.
The Free Tier offer applies to managed connectors and excludes Zerobus Ingest, Structured Streaming sources (e.g., Kafka), community connectors, and file source connectors (e.g., Auto Loader). Check out the Lakeflow Connect pricing page for full details.

Real-time emotion detection from webcam — no wearables needed
We’ve been running controlled trials with real-time facial affect analysis using nothing but a standard 720p webcam — no IR sensors, no EEG caps, no chest straps. The goal? Detect emotional valence and arousal with enough accuracy to be useful in high-stakes environments: remote proctoring, telehealth triage, UX research. Most open-source pipelines fail here because they treat emotion as a static classification problem. We treat it as a dynamic signal. Our stack uses a lightweight RetinaFace for detection, followed by a pruned EfficientNet-B0 fine-tuned on dynamic expressions from the AFEW and SEED datasets — not just static FER2013 junk. Temporal smoothing via a 1D causal CNN on top of softmax outputs reduces jitter and improves response latency under variable lighting. The real breakthro
